Benefit Concert

The crowd was amazing - this concert was pulled together in less than 5 days with no radio advertising - only posters in Berkeley, word of mouth and email exchanges. The Berkeley Community Theater was completely sold out! (seating for 3200 and there were extra supporters on stairs and in chairs and wheelchairs down in front).
The line of supporters waiting to enter looped and turned all around the huge Berkeley High School inner courtyard and out to the football field. I took a lot of crowd photos and hope this collection and the other page linked at the bottom below may give you a feel for the spirit and numbers of people.
Joan Baez came out and walked to the end and back of the line raising her fists in salute and looking very pleased with the amazing turnout.
