Again, Another Hearing in Berkeley
Thurs. Feb 24, 2000
Kahlil Jacobs-Fantauzzi, the only KPFA free speech protestor still facing
charges, went to court again today at 2pm. Again the hearing was
postponed. Kahlil, a teacher in San Francisco, was arrested last summer
during the free speech protests at KPFA radio. The hearing will took place at 2
PM at the Berkeley courthouse, 2120 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Of the more than 100 protesters who were arrested last summer
when armed guards were used to close down KPFA radio for several weeks last
summer, Kahlil is the only one whose charges have not been dropped. Kahlil is on
the Local Advisory Board of KPFA and played a key role during Camp
KPFA to maintain communication between the peaceful protesters and the
police. He is also a community activist working against youth incarceration and
for the freedom of political prisoners.

I pulled a couple photos I took of
Kahlil back on July 14, 1999 in front of KPFA when he was acting in his
liason role. I had converted them to grayscale for the North Bay KPFA
Folio and thought I'd add them here as well.
